As one of the nation’s most respected attorney rating services, Super Lawyers Magazine has become known for its publishing annual lists recognizing the most accomplished attorneys in each state. The list of Super Lawyers is considered one of the most prestigious honors among attorneys, and it is a distinction earned by less than 5% of all active lawyers in each state.
In order to be selected to the annual Super Lawyers list, attorneys must first be nominated by legal peers who have seen their work in action, or by the Super Lawyers independent research team. Nominees are then evaluated meticulously using the Super Lawyers patented, multi-step selection process. This includes independent research that focuses on a dozen objective indicators of success and achievement, such as an attorney’s case results, special certifications, stature in the legal field, reputation in the local community, scholarly lectures or writing, and education and employment background, among other factors.
After being evaluated by the research team and assigned point values based on the 12 various indicators, attorneys are then vetted by a blue-ribbon panel of legal peers. These panels consist of attorneys who practice in the same area of law as the candidates they review. Attorneys are again assigned point values by peer-review panels. Candidates who earn the highest point totals in both the independent research and peer evaluation phases are ultimately selected to the final list of Super Lawyers, an honor earned by just 5% of all active, licensed lawyers in the state.
Because Super Lawyers is committed to impartial and rigorous evaluations, attorneys included in the Magazine’s final list have objectively exemplified the highest standards of excellence. As such, local individuals and families in need of legal representation can turn to the list when selecting a qualified attorney to handle their legal needs. Backed by nearly 20 years of experience, John began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney, where he gained invaluable insight prosecuting and litigation criminal cases. John is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and handles federal cases in the U.S. Southern District Court of Florida.
